I took the girls to the Fullerton Arboretum one morning. It was a HOT morning and as much as I felt like staying inside in our air-conditioned condo, I also knew that we had to get out if I expected the girls to not be bouncing off the walls by the afternoon. Those days, when we are primarily indoors, are loooong. So much better to get out first thing and let the kidlets go a little wild!!!
I had never brought them here before but I think we will make this a regular picnic/nature walk spot. It's such a pretty place with many different plants. There's a lily pond, turtles, ducks, shady spots to rest, and trails for exploring. Lots of little nooks and crannies among the bushes and even a few trees perfect for climbing!
The girls were quite entertained by the ducks and chasing them around. The ducks, on the other hand, were not so amused.
Did I mention it was HOT??? The sprinklers were a God-send. My girls loved it and I had to restrain myself from running through them like a crazy woman. ;)
I toted along some paper, paint brushes and a few jars of paint. We found the perfect shady spot for having our snacks and doing a little watercolor painting.
How inviting does this little bench look among all those lovely, crunchy leaves???
This tree looked so cool! Although you can't tell from the picture, the branches actually came down and into the earth like roots {or maybe they were roots that looked like branches?} Not sure, but it was very interesting!
